Citrus
County
PTA
members Attend State PTA Leadership Training
Thirteen PTA leaders representing 5 local PTAs/PTSAs and
the County Council PTA from Citrus County attended the 71st
Annual Florida PTA Leadership Conference in Innisbrook, Florida
this July. They joined
nearly 1000 other PTA members from around the state to learn how
to be effective PTA officers, what programs are available for PTAs
to offer at their schools, and more about the mission of PTA.
A Healthy and Safe Kids Fair, a vendor’s fair and Family
Fun Night were also highlights of the conference.
PTA leaders are encouraged to participate in the Florida
PTA Leadership Certification Program.
Workshops are provided at State Conventions and
Conferences. They
include topics designed to help individuals have a better
understanding of parliamentary procedure, bylaws, strategic planning, membership, program
planning, budgets, resource development, taxes, financial
management, legislation, platforms, lobbying, program advocacy and
other topics.
On August 27 the Citrus County Council of PTAs/PTSAs will
host countywide leadership training.
All PTA members are invited to attend.
If you are interested in attending or would like more
information about PTA please contact CCCPTA President Rhonda
Kauffman at rkauffman@cccpta.com.
