Advocacy / Legislative - The legislative representative keeps the council and local units informed of current government issues regarding children with concern to PTA's effective participation in local, state, and national government. They also lead the advocacy efforts for the children of Citrus County.
County Mentor - The county mentor is available to all county council and local members for advise on PTA matters.
Cultural Arts/Reflections - The Cultural Arts/Reflections chair stimulates active participation in cultural arts events in the county via PTA communications. They organize the Reflections program by sending notices of the theme, guidelines and deadlines to each local PTA. They collect all work from the local PTAs and arrange for work to be judged. They submit winning entries to State PTA for further judging.
Education Foundation Liaison - The Education Foundation Liaison is a member of the Education Foundation and attends monthly Education Foundation meetings. They make reports to the council.
Historian - The historian is responsible for maintaining a scrapbook that contains articles and pictures of county and local PTA events and programs.
Hospitality - The Hospitality committee welcomes people at county PTA meetings and events. They provide food and drink at county meetings and events when needed. They work with local PTAs to get food, drink at meetings or events that they help sponsor for the county.
Membership - The membership chair assists local unit membership chairs in promoting unit and Council membership.
Newsletter - This committee writes the county PTA newsletter with input from the county president, local presidents and committee members.
Parliamentarian - The parliamentarian provides information for proper us of Parliamentary procedure and Bylaws at request of the president. When absent, the secretary fills this role.
Publicity / Marketing - This committee promotes the County Council events in the local media. They take photos at events and help distribute county PTA fliers and newsletters as directed.
Resources (fundraising, business partnerships, grants) - This committee secures funds needed to conduct the business of the county council.
School Board Reporter - The School Board Reporter attends school board meetings and reports information back to the council at their council meeting.
Website - This committee keeps the website current with input from county and local board members.
School Liaisons - Representatives from the local PTAs that attend the County PTA General Meetings. The liaisons bring their individual units' achievements and concerns to the meetings. Each local unit needs to appoint a member to send to all county meetings with the president.
School Mentors - Representatives from the Council that attend local unit meetings and events of the school they are assigned. They support the local PTA and are available for advice when needed. |
